- I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience providing mental health therapy. - I specialize in working with adults with a variety of concerns, including: * Depression and anxiety * Grief and loss * Relationship issues * Family of Origin Concerns * Adult children of alcoholics * Lesbian, gay, and bisexual identity and coming out issues * Transgender and Gender identity Education Psy.D. Clinical Psychology, Pacific University, 2004 M.S. Mental Health Counseling, Eastern Washington University, 2000 My clinical psychology doctoral training was completed at Pacific University’s School of Professional Psychology, where I gained invaluable experience specializing in treating adults across a wide cultural and individual spectrum. My therapeutic specialty is working with adults who are seeking to better understand themselves, improve their relationships with others, and address mental health issues that are impacting their personal satisfaction.
Treatment Approach: My therapeutic to psychotherapy combines the principles of feminism and multiculturalism with interpersonal psychology. What this means is that I view myself as a collaborator in your change process, whereas you are an expert about yourself, and I am a guide that helps navigate difficulties in your life.I also focus on building a trusting, supportive relationship with clients that allows us to examine how previous relationships may influence how you engage with other people in your life, particularly related to intimacy and connectedness. Finally, through exploration of coping strategies, especially those that once may have been helpful but now may interfere with your growth, I can help provide concrete tools to make changes in thinking and behaving that can lead to more personal fulfillment.
