I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Oregon with an emphasis on working with children and families. In addition I have obtained my doctoral degree in Social Work and Social Research. I have been working in the mental health field for 13 years in a variety of capacities including work in residential treatment, in community centers, as a researcher, project coordinator for a drug and alcohol prevention program, program planner, and as a child and family therapist. In each setting I find that developing a strong relationship with my client(s) is a key to facilitating healing.

Treatment Philosophy

We live in a very dynamic and unique historical moment. My approach to therapy is influenced by attachment theory, family systems theory, humanism, and integrative trauma models. I blend a combination of Eastern and Western approaches integrating mind/body/and spirit. I approach each individual or family taking into account larger socio-historical factors influencing their experience and draw on a variety of techniques from my theoretical orientation and training. I believe in the dignity and worth of all people and try to restore the prana, or life force of individuals and families who are experiencing difficulties in today’s world.

Areas of Clinical Interest

I provide individual and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Areas of clinical experience include depression, grief and loss, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, women’s issues, parenting, diversity, disabilities, and child development.
