Greetings! My name is Pam and I am excited to be bringing my massage therapy practice to The Growing Place. I have been a massage therapist for more than four years and I love what I do. I enjoy getting to know my clients, listening to their needs and working together to decrease stress, reduce pain and promote a calmer, more centered perspective on life. The name of my practice is Grounding Tree. Many people ask, how did you come up with that name? The name itself came to me when I was looking at a calming painting of a tree that a friend had created. I felt relaxed and grounded as I imagined the roots growing through the earth and observed the branches reaching toward the sky. It struck me that I, like so many of us, spend much of my time in my head, worrying about life's responsibilities and getting through my "to do" lists. It's easy in our fast-paced world to feel disconnected from our bodies and from the stability of the earth beneath our feet. Promoting the feeling of groundedness, support and stability that we all carry in our bodies is what I love about giving massage. My modalities include Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, gentle myofascial release, and hot stone. I also do some Reiki. Recently I've been drawn to Shiatsu and reflexology and learning more about the energy points of the body. I can bill some insurance, including motor vehicle accident claims with a prescription from your medical or chiropractic doctor. If you're looking to reduce pain you've been holding in your body, become more grounded and focused, or just need to chill out and relax, give me a call. We can talk about how massage can help you. Thank you.
