It really is true…you are what you eat…and what you think.
Let’s face it. We live in a stressed out culture. Our bodies interpret stress about money or relationships in the same way it interprets stress from a chemical-laden, highly processed double cheeseburger. So the question becomes, are we really living stressful lives, or do we place such stress on our bodies that we see the world as stressful?
Here’s the progression of deterioration that too many people today face:
Big Mac, then Zantac, then Prozac…what stage are you at?
Or, do you opt for a salad for lunch every day, but still find yourself tired, bloated or constantly hungry?
BODY. MIND. BALANCED. is dedicated to restoring your body and mind to homeostasis, or a state of balance.
My part is to find out what your body is missing and teach you how to provide it. I also help you learn how to reduce or eliminate the stress that comes from a poor diet, as well as inner tensions and drives that cause you to make decisions that don’t support your well-being. Both of these help you reach homeostasis, or balance, in both body and mind.
Nutritional Therapy and/or Wellness Coaching are for you if you experience any of the following…
  • Depression, anxiety, or mood disturbances
  • Chronic yo-yo dieting
  • Skin problems
  • Addictions to certain drug-like foods, including sugar and processed flour
  • Constipation, gas, bloating
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Binge eating or simply a hunger that can’t be satisfied
  • A host of seemingly unrelated and uncomfortable physical ailments that your doctor doesn’t know how to treat
  • Chronic stress – either physical or mental
A Nutritional Therapy consultation includes:
  • A look at your current diet and education on proper diet for your individual needs
  • An assessment of symptom-based imbalances
  • A evaluation of foundational health functioning, including digestion, fatty acids, blood sugar regulation, mineral balance, and hydration, as well as the consequences of any deficiencies.
  • Exploring the use of supplementation to restore homeostasis
In a wellness coaching session, we work to help you:
  • Become aware of limiting beliefs around your body and your health
  • Gain body awareness so you can regain trust in your body and its important signals
  • Help you release resistance to your health, body, food, or other emotional triggers, so that you can create more of what you want – radiant health and ideal weight and functioning.
I am a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association in Olympia, WA. I hold a B.A. in psychology from Gonzaga University and am a certified Sedona Method (www.sedona.com) Facilitator.
My background includes private practice work as a nutritional therapist and wellness coach. My areas of specialty are weight loss, digestion, mental health, and traditional diets. I also spent many years facilitating and leading meditation retreats and worked with thousands of people to change self-destructive habits, let go of limiting beliefs, find self-acceptance, and release stressful thought patterns. My orientation is largely based in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Eastern Philosophy. 
I am guided by:
·  A profound respect for the teachings of nutritional pioneers, such as Weston Price, D.D.S. and Frances Pottenger, MD
·  A commitment to the concept of biochemical individuality
· The belief that within each of us lies an innate intelligence that guides us
· The concept that by releasing our own resistance and perceived limitations we are left with freedom, energy and the willingness to naturally and effortlessly do what’s right for our bodies and minds.
