All those in practice at The North Portland Growth Place agree in writing to practice according to the highest ethical standards of their profession.
The History:
After expanding my private practice into St Johns in 2007, I quickly realized that there are few private therapists providing mental health services in the North Portland and St Johns area.After using space in offices that did not suit all of my needs as a professional counselor, I wanted to create an ideal space and professional community for counselors, therapists, and mental wellness providers.We began looking for a suitable building in the North Portland area.My husband and I purchased this beautifully remodeled 1916, commercially zoned house, in April of 2008.
The Vision:
Our vision for The North Portland Growth Place has been to create a space that brings together a dynamic group of skilled, motivated professionals who collaborate, support, and learn from each other while maintaining independent complimentary practices.My experience working in agencies and in private practice lead me to recognize the importance and value of collaborating with colleagues.The North Portland Growth Place is a community of professionals who share common goals, outlook, perspectives and utilize individual skills and training to help clients reach their goals and potential.
We meet regularly for a voluntary “networking hour” to bring practitioners together, provide peer consultation, discuss collaborate marketing efforts, and provide general professional support.
In keeping with the mental health focus, ideal practitioners are counselors, therapists, social workers, PNMHP’s, psychologists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, or body workers. This allows us to meet the range of client needs in a wholistic manner. The building provides a comfortable, tastefully furnished space for therapists to practice out of on a part or full time basis. I received much guidance and support from various professionals along my private practice journey, and I hope to pay it forward, in part by facilitating this space. Do you need space for meetings, groups, seminars, or workshops? We have space available by the hour, half day or full day. Rates are $15/hr (2 hr min), $45/ half day (8:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-6:00pm) or $90/ full day (8am-6pm). Meeting room seats 10-15 comfortably, has separate back garden entrance, private bathroom, chairs, tables to arrange to suit your needs, can be used for floor work as well.
